Mercedes-Benz GLS SUV facelift spied

The Mercedes-Benz GL or GLS according to their new nomenclature is getting a facelift and here’s what it looks like in these spy pictures. The GLS will be launched sometime next year with a minor cosmetic update going by the pictures. 

The mid-cycle refresh gets the SUV small styling tweaks to the bumper and hood and the headlamp cluster will be revised as well. As with most updates, the interior will receive a few revisions as well but don’t expect anything significant. The SUV will be called the GLS when it is launched and will get new badges to go with it.

Being the top of the line SUV from the three pointed star, the GLS could also get a Maybach derivative. According to Australian automotive website Motoring, the company is considering Maybach versions of the GLS and S-Class Coupe in addition to the S-Class sedan that was revealed recently. This is part of Mercedes’ plan to build a luxury brand for its cars in line with the AMG performance arm. Engines will be the same so expect the 3.0-litre V6 diesel to make it our shores.
