Mercedes-Benz India launches 'Center of Excellence'

Just when we thought Mercedes-Benz would have no more big announcements in 2013, their all new and exclusive customer centric ‘high-end’ showroom at the Mercedes-Benz factory at Chakan came as a shocker. The ‘Centre of Excellence’ as it is called, is basically a high end showroom featuring Mercedes-Benz’s AMG range and a few other cars like the upcoming S Class, the CLS Class and the A Class. Customers can come to the Centre of Excellence and virtually customize their cars to felicitate the best use of Mercedes-Benz’s i-Configurator.

Customers can choose from a variety of color options on display, select details like leather colors and interior trim options while basking in the glory of halo cars like the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG and the G63 AMG. Other facilities include a Mercedes-Benz shop, that stores everything from Scale models, to Mercedes-Benz branded apparel, Mercedes Benz accessories. There is also a Mercedes-Benz café where one can enjoy a fresh cup of coffee while customizing their cars.

Leather and interior options at the Centre of Excellence

Speaking on the occasion, Matthias Lührs, Chairman of the Board of Management, Mercedes-Benz India and Vice-President -Global Sales, Mercedes-Benz said “We are delighted to inaugurate the ‘Centre of Excellence’ in India. This one of its kind experience for our customers will ensure that they live our complete brand experience and are able to personalize our specialty cars to suit their tastes and preferences.” Adding to the above, Eberhard Kern, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India said, “2013 has been the ‘Year of Offensive’ for Mercedes-Benz India and we are pleased with the numerous fascinating experiences we have created for our customers this year. Our product offensive, network spread, financial programmes and after-sales offerings have created excitement for our customers and also added immense value. The increased customer confidence and traction amidst difficult market challenges, reiterates the fact that we continue to remain a fundamentally strong brand which is trusted and valued by customers and brand enthusiasts across markets.”

Mercedes-Benz also offers the added benefit to customers like a pick-up and drop facility to the factory using a helicopter that can transport a customer back and forth from Bombay to Poona in under 40 minutes. Customers can also indulge in a bit of off-roading on Mercedes-Benz’s specially created off-road course in the factory’s premises. Next year, with offerings like the S Class and its subsequent AMG models planned along with the entire range of other AMG models like the SL63, ML63, A45 and CLA45, the Centre of Excellence will most certainly be well utilized by perspective customers.
