MG Motors has revealed its first sedan for the Indian market, the MG 7 Trophy, at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. Considering the relatively subdued growth of the sedan segment in India, the MG 7, with its sleek design, luxurious features, and powerful engine options, is poised to make a strong statement in the premium sedan market. Here’s a closer look at what the MG 7 Trophy has to offer and why it might just be a game-changer.
The MG 7 Trophy stands out with its sleek and stylish exterior. The front design features sharp, angular LED headlights with T-shaped DRLs and a grille that extends across the width of the car, giving it a distinctive look. The sloping bonnet adds a touch of aerodynamics and sophistication.
The profile of the sedan is equally impressive, with 19-inch alloy wheels, flared wheel arches, and chrome-accented frameless windows.
The rear of the sedan further enhances its sporty appeal with a chunky tailgate-mounted active spoiler, connected LED taillights, and dual exhaust tailpipes. The lower portion of the sedan is blacked out for a sporty and aggressive look.
Overall, the MG 7 Trophy brings the perfect balance between sporty and elegant design.
Inside the MG 7 Trophy, the design continues to impress. The cabin features racing-inspired leatherette upholstery and a dual-tone dashboard that enhances the sporty atmosphere. The 12.3-inch touchscreen and 10.25-inch digital driver’s display are neatly integrated into the dashboard, making the interior feel modern and tech-savvy.
The centre console with its silverish finish holds the gear lever and electronic parking brake, while the three-spoke steering wheel adds to the sporty vibe. The sedan is packed with features, including a panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging, a 9-speaker Bose sound system, and a 6-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat.
In terms of safety, the MG 7 Trophy doesn’t miss a beat, offering multiple airbags, a 360-degree camera, and advanced driver assistance systems like lane-keep assist and rear collision detection.
The MG 7 Trophy is powered by a 2-litre turbo-petrol engine that produces 265 PS and 405 Nm of torque. Paired with a 9-speed torque converter automatic transmission, this engine delivers a smooth yet powerful driving experience. The MG 7 Trophy will appeal to those who enjoy performance without compromising comfort.
The MG 7 Trophy is expected to be priced around Rs 40 lakh (ex-showroom), positioning it as a more affordable rival to the Toyota Camry and the upcoming Skoda Superb. This makes it an attractive option for buyers looking for a premium sedan experience without breaking the bank.
With its sporty looks, luxurious interior, and impressive powertrain, the MG 7 Trophy is certainly one to watch. We believe it has the potential to shake up the segment and offer strong competition to its rivals. What do you think of the MG 7 Trophy? Let us know in the comments below!
