You’d think that no captain seats has made the seven-seater Savvy less expensive than the six-seater. But surprisingly, MG has kept the price exactly the same. Still it's a win-win, really -- additional seating at no extra cost.
The seven-seater Savvy gets all the bells and whistles from the six-seater. The Gloster is the only SUV in its segment to feature Level 1 autonomous driving tech, including auto park assist, autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, and forward-collision warning. To know how they work, check out our first drive review.
The SUV packs a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with connected car tech, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 12-speaker sound system, ambient lighting, heated and ventilated front seats, powered driver’s seat with massage function, and a panoramic sunroof. Passenger safety is covered by multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, parking sensors, and electronic stability program.
Like the six-seater, the seven-seater Savvy is powered by a 2-litre twin-turbo diesel motor generating 218PS and 470Nm. It is paired with an 8-speed automatic, and power is sent to all four wheels. There are seven drive modes on offer.
The Gloster comes with the MG Shield warranty package for 3 years or 1 lakh km, whichever is less. The full-size SUV takes on the Ford Endeavour, Toyota Fortuner, and Mahindra Alturas G4.
