The MG Gloster comes with two diesel engines. The first two variants come with a 2.0-litre turbo engine developing 163PS and 375Nm while the top two feature a 2.0-litre twin-turbo motor churning out a class-leading 218PS and 470Nm. While both engines are paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission, it’s the twin-turbo engine that drives all four wheels. The single turbo unit drives its rear wheels.
The Gloster’s highlight is its segment-first level-1 autonomous safety features including autonomous emergency braking, lane keeping assist, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control and cruise control. Take a look at the functioning of these features in our first drive video review.

The MG Gloster’s prime rivals are the Ford Endeavour, Toyota Fortuner and Mahindra Alturas G4. While the price hike might come as a slight disappointment for potential buyers, the Gloster still scores high on its value-for-money quotient.
