MG Hector’s New ‘Shine’ Trim Launched At Rs Rs 14.52 Lakh

MG Hector’s price increment ranges from Rs 28,000 to Rs 43,000.
The Hector Plus’ price hike ranges from Rs 28,000 to Rs 38,000.
The third price increment for the Hector now amounts to nearly Rs 1 lakh of a difference in pricing compared to December 2020.
While 2021 so far has seen Morris Garages update most of its model lineup, it’s also simultaneously hiked its prices in the process. Now, the carmaker has silently hiked prices of the Hector and Hector Plus SUVs for the third time. Here’s how they’re priced now:

For the MG Hector, almost all the petrol-powered variants have received a hike of Rs 28,000. The petrol-hybrid ‘Smart’ gets the lowest increment at Rs 27,000, whereas the petrol-hybrid ‘Smart’ gets the biggest price jump at Rs 38,000. Most of the diesel variants have had their prices bumped up by Rs 38,000, with the top-spec ‘Sharp’ garnering the highest price hike of the Hector lineup at Rs 43,000.

Heading over to the Hector's extended siblings, the petrol and petrol-hybrid variants in both 6-seater and 7-seater configurations are dearer by Rs 28,000. Diesel variants of both seating layouts have received the highest price increment at Rs 38,000.
Both the MG Hector and Hector Plus are powered by a 170PS/350Nm 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine and a 143PS/250Nm 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine with the option of a 48v mild-hybrid system. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual as standard, with DCT and CVT gearbox options for the petrol motor.
This third price hike for the Hector has led to a difference in pricing that edges close to the Rs 1 lakh mark when compared to the December 2020 prices. The Hector takes on the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Tata Harrier and Mahindra XUV500, whereas the Hector Plus has the Tata Safari and the Toyota Innova Crysta for company.
