Had your eyes set on the MG Hector Plus? We have good news for you. The carmaker has just confirmed in a tweet that the SUV will reach showrooms in July 2020. The MG Hector Plus is based on the standard model and will be offered with either six- or seven-seater options.
Though the Hector Plus looks more or less similar to the standard model, it has a relatively cleaner guise thanks to the absence of various plastic and chrome elements. We expect the basic dashboard layout to remain the same as well. The centrepiece here is the third row. Initially, it will be offered in a 6-seater layout with captain seats in the middle row. A 7-seater layout with a bench seat in the middle row will follow later this year.
In terms of features, the Hector Plus is expected to come with connected car technology, a 10.4-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an Infinity sound system, a panoramic sunroof, climate control, ambient lighting and cruise control. Expected safety features include six airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, and a rearview camera.

The Hector Plus will be offered with the existing 170PS 2.0-litre diesel and a 143PS 1.5-litre petrol engine options. The latter can also be opted with a 48V mild-hybrid system which packs in functions like torque boost and engine start-stop. Both engines will be offered with a 6-speed manual as standard while the automatic variant will be reserved for the petrol-only unit.
Prices for the Hector Plus are expected to start from Rs 14 lakh (ex-showroom). It will lock horns with the upcoming Tata Gravitas as well as the similarly priced Innova Crysta.
