MG Motor India organised its first customer meet and drive. It was aimed at highlighting the British brand’s association with the Indian subcontinent. This meet was a part of the 21 Gun Salute Rally which was held in New Delhi on February 17 and 18, 2018.
The 21 Gun Salute Rally is a vintage car rally that is aimed at showcasing the best heritage and vintage cars in the country and promoting the vast cultural diversity of India on the global stage. It was first started in 2011 and this year was the 8th edition of the 21 Gun Salute Rally.
The exclusive MG Motor meet was attended by MG owners who travelled from cities such Delhi, Jaipur, Chandigarh and others to participate in the rally. MG cars present at the rally included roadsters and convertibles like the 1935 MG P sports roader, 1946 MG TC and 1965 MG Midget among others. The MG B was the most popular of the cars, with three models including the popular MG-B GT fastback in attendance.
Recently, MG also launched a digital campaign to welcome the MG enthusiasts who have owned and conserved the British marque’s classic cars. The exclusive meet and drive were another step in strengthening its bond with the brand’s loyalists in the country. It was flagged off from Golf Course Ambience Greens in Gurgaon.

The British carmaker is all set to enter the Indian car market by late-2018, spearheaded by two SUVs and a premium hatchback. Last year, the carmaker took over General Motor's plant in Halol, Gujarat. MG is now refurbishing the facility with state-of-the-art manufacturing tools and processes for producing cars for the Indian market by late-2018.
