Earlier we had reported that TVS might bring an all-new 125cc scooter, based on the Graphite concept showcased at the previous Auto Expo. When spy shots of a new TVS scooter followed, it was clear that it would feature an edgy design, with the front apron sharing a resemblance with the Honda Dio and the Honda Grazia.
And now, latest reports suggest that this new scooter will be packed with either a heavily tuned 125cc engine or a larger 150cc unit. This news doesn't come as a surprise considering that TVS has been putting a lot of focus on the performance of motorcycles, and it would only seem logical for them to do the same with their scooter lineup. Adding to that, the arrival of the Honda Grazia has caused the 125cc scooter segment to heat up. With this development, TVS wouldn’t want to be left behind, and it’s logical that the company will look to expand its scooter portfolio beyond the 110cc segment.
So what are we getting on the new scooter? For starters, if we go by the images, we can see that it gets a telescopic suspension up front along with a 12-inch alloy wheel. The two-wheeler in question might also feature a fully digital instrument console, which will be unlike any other TVS scooter. The photos also suggest that the scooter doesn’t come equipped with a disc brake, although it might be offered as an option, just like the TVS Jupiter.
It is expected that the new scooter will be launched within the first quarter of 2018, with a possible unveil at the upcoming 2018 Auto Expo in Noida.
