DC has released first pictures of a new and more powerful variant of the Avanti sportscar. The new car will not only receive a slightly more powerful state of tune but will also have a series of visual upgrades that goes a long way in making the Avanti an instantly better looking car than what it is today. The new Avanti 310 will in available with a very limited production run.
The new car gets 310PS of peak power, which is 60PS more than what the engine originally made. The car still gets the same 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged engine that makes 340Nm of peak torque, which is enough to propel the 1500kg. The other mechanical change is the optional AMT gearbox, which will give drivers ease of use as compared to the manual. A more powerful front and rear ventilated disc brake package is also available. The 310 will also be 20mm lower than the standard car and will have stiffer anti roll bars to make it handle even better than it already does.
The new car will also get several visual upgrades, which include a 2-piece carbonfibre splitter, rear diffuser and sill extensions. There is also a high down force carbonfibre spoiler that will go onto the engine cover making the rear seem more attractive. The Avanti 310 will also get a new dark finished forged wheel option along with an updated interior, which includes new alcantara sports seats and steering wheel.
The DC Avanti 310 will also get LED headlamps and tail lamps to add to the package. On the safety front, the car will get optional airbags both for the driver and co-driver. The DC Avanti 310 will be available in two tone colors including a factory matte option. The car will be available from April 2016 onwards and comes with a price tag of Rs 44 lakh (ex-showroom).
