The Mutt Akita 125 wears a hefty price tag of Rs 3.59 lakh in the UK

Birmingham based two-wheeler brand, Mutt Motorcycles, has launched their latest creation, the Akita 125. It is available only in the UK and demands a fat check of GBP 3,495 (excluding the taxes), which roughly translates to Rs 3.59 lakh. So, what does it offer for such a high asking price?

The designers at Mutt Motorcycles seem to have taken a minimalist approach for the Akita 125. It gets a rugged, naked bodywork painted in contrasting colours. You get a round headlight with halogen bulbs and LED indicators.

Powered by an air-cooled 125cc single-cylinder motor that makes 12.1PS and 10Nm, mated to a 5-speed gearbox, the Akita 125 clocks a claimed tops-speed of 112kmph and weighs just 105kg. For reference, the recently launched Yamaha XSR 125 makes 14.95PS and 11.5Nm.

The Mutt Akita 125 is pretty barebone on the feature front and only gets a CBS (Combined Braking System) with its front and rear disc brake setup. Meanwhile, the suspension duties are done by gaitered telescopic front fork and gas-charged dual rear springs.

It rolls on 18-inch spoked wheels wrapped in off-road-ready knobby tyres and gets a 16-litre fuel tank.

The Mutt Akita 125 is something you’d buy for the looks of it over the performance. But, it’s a bit too expensive for a 125cc bike and won’t be heading our way any time soon. Moreover, the Akita 125 also has a bigger sibling named the Akita 250 that demands an even fatter check of Rs 4.38 lakh, in the UK.
