Audi has revealed its new concept car called the TT Offroad at the ongoing Beijing Motor Show. This four-door model is inspired by the 2016 Audi TT Sports car which was revealed at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. The new concept car gets a raised ride height and four individual seats.
The new Audi TT Offroad is 4,390mm long, 1,850mm wide with a wheelbase of 2,630mm and sits on 21-inch five-spoke alloy wheels. The concept car is based on Volkswagen’s MQB platform which is the basis of several models such as the Audi TT and Volkswagen Golf. The Audi TT Offroad gets an arched roofline, pronounced fender flares, angular headlamps and sharp taillamps. A Sonora yellow paint wrap up the job.
The interior of the concept car is draped in gray Nappa leather, Alcantara and Italian Poltrona Frau leather. The instrument panel is a 12.3-inch TFT display, which the driver can customize with the push of a button. The TFT display produces high-quality 3D graphics. For back-seat passengers, two Audi Smart Displays are mounted on the front-seat headrests, which serve as a mobile infotainment system.
Under the hood, the TT Offroad is powered by a plug-in hybrid system that mates the TT's 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine to an electric motor and a six-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission. The four-cylinder engine and electric motor power the front wheels, while a second electric motor sends its power to the rear wheels. Audi says that both the powertrains combine to produce 410PS of power and 650Nm of torque. The car accelerates from 0-100kmph in 5.2 seconds with a claimed top speed of 250kmph. When the new Audi TT Offroad comes to life it will take on the BMW X4.
