Renowned for experimenting with its Discover range of motorcycles, Bajaj has once again introduced a new offering under the moniker in the 125cc class. This time round though, it has been launched with an updated engine but in the first-gen model skin. This new Bajaj Discover 125 has been launched at Rs 52,002 (ex-showroom Delhi) and will be available in just one fully loaded variant.
The two-valve Discover 125 comes with a 124.6cc unit that produces 11PS of power and 10.8Nm of torque. All of the power is sent to the rear wheel with the help of a 5-speed transmission. Along with this Discover, Bajaj will also continue to sell the Discover 125M that comes with a 4-valve DTS-i engine. It must also be noted that the Discover 125M which is priced Rs 3,000 higher than this model comes with a 4-speed transmission. The Chakan-based bike maker claims an efficiency of 82.4kmpl for the Discover 125 while the Discover 125M has an ARAI claimed efficiency of 76kmpl. The new Discover 125 tips the scale at 120kg which is 2kg lighter than its 125cc sibling.
With regards to features, the Disvcover 125 comes with telescopic front forks, a 200mm disc brake up front, alloy wheels and electric start. This new motorcycle will be offered in two colours – Ebony black with deep red and blue graphics. The Discover 125 will go against the likes of the Honda Shine, the Yamaha Saluto and the Hero Super Splendor.
