Benelli has been working hard on the next generation of the TNT 600 for a while now. Two visually different design patent images had surfaced online. Now there is a third one, which seems to be an amalgamation of the previous two.
Benelli did showcase an updated version of the TNT at EICMA 2019 but only the headlight design was updated, and it got a TFT screen. The 600cc inline-four motor was still Euro 4-compliant only.
For the Euro 5-/BS6-compliant bike, the changes are going to be a bit more comprehensive. For starters, the recent design patent shows Benelli aiming to provide a Kawasaki Z1000-esque headlight unit. Although it might look similar to the Kwacker, it is being reported that it actually has a central LED DRL flanked on either side with projector bulbs. This is the only bit that seems to be borrowed from the first patent image.
Old Designs
The tank design, body panels and the radiator angle are similar to the design shown prior to the current one. It even borrows the one-piece seat with a scooped out rider’s section.
Rest of the mechanical elements remain the same. The engine will be updated to meet the new emission laws. It might lose out on a bit of performance, the motor producing 86.24PS and 54.6Nm in its BS4 guise. Benelli’s initial plan with the TNT 600 was to launch it in the Chinese market by mid-May. However, the plans have been delayed due to the COVID-19 outbreak that occurred in China.
