The DuraPlus tyre is said to last up to 100,000 kilometers under regular driving conditions and this is thanks to Goodyear's latest TredLife Technology, which is now going to feature as the core build in all Goodyear tyres.
Commenting on the launch, Mr. Rajeev Anand, Managing Director, Goodyear India, said, "Goodyear has always believed in providing the best to its customers. Based on our understanding of the Indian market and the consumers, we have been successful in coming up with the best technology that can meet consumer expectations. We are positive that our new tyre, DuraPlus, will provide exceptional value to the Indian consumers."
Tyres are expected to do a lot more under today's driving conditions. With vehicles being able to reach higher speeds, safety qualities as well as the ability to handle more pressure while providing a comfortable and durable ride, is literally what the market demands today. Goodyear taken all this into account and after considerable testing by over 100 engineers, physicists and chemical experts, they have managed to make the DuraPlus.
The DuraPlus tyres are available in different sizes for popular vehicles on the Indian roads such as the Hyundai Santro, Maruti Suzuki Wagon R, the Hyundai i10 and GM U-VA.
TredLife Technology:-
Goodyear's TredLife Technology ushers in a number of innovations which have been carried out in order to create longer lasting treads. By increasing tread life, wear and tear is greatly reduced and the tyres life increases. What Goodyear has done on the new tyre is that they have introduced an innovative new generation wide face cavity that leads to a larger footprint and reduces the point-load thanks to the wider contact patch. This, combined with the fact that the new tyres are created out of an advanced carbon-based tread compound, leads to an increased resistance to frictional wear therefore prolonging tyre life. The compound also contributes to reducing the rolling resistance of the tyre and this then benefits the owner by increasing the vehicle's efficiency, as less energy is required to turn the tyres.
