The face lifted version of the Hero Karizma R and Karizma ZMR has made its way to dealerships. Both the bikes had made their public debut at the 2014 Auto Expo in Delhi earlier this year. Changes made on the Hero Karizma ZMR and Karizma R is both cosmetic and mechanical. Both the motorcycles haven’t been launched officially by Hero but select dealerships have received the bikes and thus pricing has been revealed. The new Hero Karizma R will retail for Rs 93,693 and the Hero Karizma R has been priced at Rs 1,17,245 (both prices on-road Mumbai). Bookings amount for both the motorcycle is Rs 14,000 and delivery is expected to commence within a month.
On the cosmetic front, the major visual change is at the front of the bikes. Both the bikes now feature twin headlamp that is stacked vertically instead of the single headlamp unit seen on its predecessors. Also the fairing design has been revised on both the motorcycles and it now features a split seat. The rear end of the bike has been revised to give it a clean and uncluttered form and the bike gets equipped with clip-on handlebars and a new muffler.
On the mechanical front, the Karizma R and the Karizma ZMR will be powered by the same powerplant as seen on their predecessor. But the engines have been tuned to produce more power. In the case of Hero Karizma R, the air-cooled, single-cylinder, 223cc motor churns out 19.2PS of power and 19.3Nm of torque, this is a 2PS and 1Nm hike in power and torque rating respectively in comparison to the older bike. Talking about its elder sibling, the Karizma ZMR has the same powerplant but instead of a carburettor it is fuel-injected. This enables the mill to pump out 20PS of power and a marginally higher torque figure of 19.7Nm.
