These artist musings are based on the company’s litre-class naked, the CB1000R.

Honda has promised us some exciting times ahead. The flagship CBR1000RR-R is set to be launched in India soon and at the end of the week, we will know all details of the highly promising CBR600RR-R. But this is supposedly just the beginning of the party for the Japanese bikemaker. We will soon witness Honda introducing more big capacity bikes and hopefully, some of them will be these rendered beauties: the CB1000X and the CBR1000R.

As delectable as the CB500X is, the thought of a larger capacity version of the motorcycle sounds so much dearer to our ears. Honda’s R&D Centre in Rome even drummed up a concept motorcycle last year called the CB4X, which was showcased at EICMA 2019. The new render builds upon the concept and showcases a more practical approach as to how Honda could go about building the CB1000X.

Given that the render is based on the CB1000R naked, the CB1000X doesn’t give off the lanky look. Hopefully, if the bike is put into series production, we could see some better kit being offered. The adventure/sports tourer segment is pretty popular these days, and Honda would probably want something to jostle against the likes of the BMW S 1000 XR and Kawasaki Versys 1000.

The second design seems to be a more straightforward, no-brainer sports tourer to take on the Kawasaki Ninja 1000 SX. This CBR1000R (notice the lack of countless Rs in the suffix) is more likely to be a slap-on job on the CB1000R with minor tweaks to the ergonomics to suit sports touring. The design inspiration from the soon-to-be-launched CBR650R and the Japan-only CBR400R is evident. The sharp twin LED face blends well into the more approachable fairing design. If you think that the CBR1000RR-R with its 217.5PS motor could be a bit too extreme, the CBR1000R’s detuned 150-170PS inline-four motor might be up your alley.

So will the Power of Dreams give us these dreamt up beauties or will they be nothing more than that -- just dreams? We hope it is the former.
