New Honda Livo

Honda India has announced that it will be launching a new product on July 10th. The new two-wheeler is most likely to be the new Honda Livo commuter motorcycle. It is expected that the new Honda Livo will replace the Honda CB Twister in India. The new Honda motorcycle will sit above the Honda Dream series of commuter motorcycles as a premium commuter bike. The Honda CB Twister despite its premium styling and features wasn’t able to make a mark for the Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer in India.

Honda wants to overhaul this and hopes that the new Livo will be successful product in India. From the spy pictures of the bike being tested we could make out that it will have an aggressive design as opposed to the more mature design language of the Dream Series. The angular headlamp unit and the sharp looking fuel tank extensions assert the aggressive styling. Other design features on the bike include alloy wheels, chrome heat shield on exhaust and red coloured suspension springs. The new Honda Livo will be based on the Dream Series platform to keep cost low.

It will employ an analogue instrument cluster with twin hexagonal pods for speedometer along with odometer and fuel gauge.  It is expected that the Honda Livo will be powered by the same 110cc displacement motor sourced from the Dream series. The single-cylinder powerplant churns out 8.36PS of power and 8.63Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the rear-wheel via a 4-speed gearbox. The bike employs telescopic front forks and hydraulic shock absorbers at rear. Braking is done by drum brake at front and rear while disc brake will be an optional extra. The new Honda Livo is expected to carry a sticker price of around Rs 48 to 50,000 and will compete against the likes of the Hero Passion XPro, Mahindra Centuro, TVS Star City+ etc.
