Hyundai India is all set to launch the third-gen i20 on November 5. It’ll come in four variants: Magna, Sportz, Asta and Asta (O). Pre-launch bookings are open and you can reserve one online or at your nearest Hyundai dealership. We’ve now got our hands on the detailed variant-wise engine options.

Hyundai will offer dual-tone colours on the top three petrol variants for a premium.
Dual-tone option for diesel will only be available with the Sportz and range-topping Asta (O) variants.
Only the 1.2-litre petrol manual is offered in all four variants.
Apart from the second-to-top Asta variant, the diesel engine will be offered in all trims.
The 1.2-litre petrol CVT powertrain will be limited to the Sportz and Asta trims.
The Turbo-DCT is limited to the top two trims while the Turbo-iMT can’t be had in the top Asta (O) variant.
The i20 will come with three engines: 1.2-litre petrol, 1.0-litre turbo-petrol and 1.5-litre diesel. Only the petrol engines are offered with an automatic gearbox while the turbo-petrol engine will come with a clutchless manual. The diesel i20 can only be had with a manual transmission. The third-gen Hyundai could be priced competitively, with the base variant likely to start from Rs 6 lakh (ex-showroom). It will rekindle its rivalry with the Tata Altroz, Maruti Suzuki Baleno, and its badge sharing cousin, the Toyota Glanza, as well as the facelifted Honda Jazz.
