Lamborghini SCV12 is a track toy that will be limited to just a few dozen units.
The Italian marque will launch it in the next few weeks.
Latest teaser reveals a two-tone shade of green and black with some copper colour accents for the exterior.
Notable bits include an aggressive aero package coupled with custom-made slick Pirelli tires fitted on 19-inch front and 20-inch rear magnesium wheels.
Customers will become part of an exclusive club where they will participate in advanced driving programmes at circuits around the world.
Around a month ago, Lamborghini gave us a glimpse of its most mental hypercar, the SCV12, being tested at the Paul Ricard circuit in France. Unfortunately, this upcoming raging bull was heavily camouflaged. Now, the carmaker has revealed another teaser image of the track-only hypercar on its website, and it certainly looks poster worthy! But the more exciting bit is that the teaser reads: ‘New Model Launch Stay Tuned’ hinting at an imminent launch.
Despite a fairly dark image, the SCV12’s overall silhouette boasts an aggressive aero design. Notable bits include a prominent front splitter with what looks like circular LED DRLs at extreme corners up front, vertical fins on the side gills, and massive fins at the rear diffuser coupled with a large carbon-fibre rear wing.
It also sports bespoke slick Pirelli rubber wrapped around 19-inch front and 20-inch rear magnesium wheels. The SCV12 sports an interesting body shade which looks like a combination of dual-tone black and green with thin copper colour accents. Given that it's a track-only car, don’t expect any creature comforts on the inside.
While the aggressive looks are all well and good, what's really tantalising is under the hood. Lamborghini boasts that it will be its most powerful raging bull to date with an in-house designed naturally aspirated 6.5-litre V12 claimed to deliver more than 830PS of grunt. The V12 will be paired to a six-speed sequential gearbox (from Huracan Super Trofeo Evo race car), with power being distributed to its rear wheels.
Lamborghini claims the SCV12 can boast such high performance figures thanks to aerodynamic supercharging at high speed. The SCV12’s front end features a double air intake and a central rib that directs airflow to the ram-air intake scoop on the roof. As the car speeds up, the air pressure sent to the engine's intake increases manifold, thereby creating more power.
Aside from out and out power, development carried out with the help of Lamborghini’s 'Squadra Corse' motorsport division has led to the SCV12 producing better aerodynamic efficiency and higher downforce levels than a GT3-spec race car! Other technical wizardry includes push-rod rear suspension system and a fully carbon-fibre chassis that should not only boast good power-to-weight ratio but also optimal handling characteristics while throwing it around a race track.
The SCV12 will make its global debut in the summer of 2020, so expect a wait of just a few more weeks. The limited-edition track-only hypercar will be assembled at the Lamborghini Squadra Corse factory in Sant’Agata Bolognese. To add to the exclusive factor, customers will become part of an exclusive club where they will participate in advanced driving programmes around the world. They will be guided by Squadra Corse engineers and five-time winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Emanuele Pirro.
