Facelifted 2015 Mercedes-Benz B-Class unveiled

Addressing the growing need for a luxurious and spacious touring vehicle with genuine on road capabilities Mercedes-Benz is seriously looking to tap into this demand with the pioneering effort of the B-Class (Read : Mercedes-Benz B-Class First Drive).
Recently unveiled at the Buddh International Circuit, the soon to be launched B-Class owing to its multidimensional capabilities has been touted as a vehicle for the Sports Tourer segment. Big on space and high on performance the new B-Class is ideally suited for the needs of a rising number of Sports Touring aficionados in India. Among other highlights of the vehicle is an aviation-inspired dashboard design, sporty 7G DCT gearbox and highly sophisticated trims and equipment.
The car was unveiled by Mr. Peter Honegg, Managing Director and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India in the presence of Mr. Debashis Mitra, Director, Sales & Marketing, Mercedes-Benz India and Bollywood celeb couple Genelia D’Souza and Ritesh Deshmukh. The unveil was followed by a First Drive Experience for the media fraternity around the Buddh International Circuit.
Speaking at the official unveil, Mr. Peter Honegg, Managing Director and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India, said “These are exciting times for Mercedes-Benz in India as we are about to introduce our first product in the new segment of the Sports Tourer with the B-Class.”
Mr. Debashis Mitra, Director, Sales & Marketing, Mercedes-Benz India added, “This vehicle will provide the highest level of a sporty experience and is ideal to suit the taste of the growing number of Sports Touring aficionados in India.”
The marketing initiatives for the new B Class have already begun with the MTV Rising Stars Contest that was targeted at the youth of the country. To create further furor around the launch, Mercedes-Benz has organized a web based sports touring competition called the "Ultimate Touring trail" (UTT) with Ritesh Deshmukh, Genelia D’Souza, Kalki Koechlin and Gaurav Kapoor as part of the celebrity jury. It shall be an adventure trail for consumers to drive the B-Class to exotic locations and explore the B side of life. Mercedes-Benz has also tied up with several travel operators to provide customized adventure packages aimed at engaging the target audiences.
Official launch of the new B Class will take place on the 18th of September this year and pricing for this new segment entrant from the three pointed star is expected to be in the range of Rs 25 lakh. Mercedes-Benz will initially offer this Sports Tourer with a wide assortment of petrol engines and a diesel version will soon follow suit.
The vehicle is on display for the customers across Mercedes-Benz dealerships in the country, who can get up close and personal with this new segment luxury class of transportation soon to be launched in India by the German car maker. Are you “Ready to B” ?
