Tata Motors has done a soft launch of a new variant of the power-steering equipped Tata Nano Twist model, by introducing a base variant on the company’s website. Priced at Rs 2.09 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai) the Tata Nano Twist XE is positioned below the top-end Tata Nano Twist XT which costs Rs 2.45 lakh, undercutting it by Rs 36,000.
As expected in a base variant, the Tata Nano Twist XE does not have a long list of features, as compared to the XT version. The Twist XE comes with all black front and rear bumpers, outer rear view mirrors and door handles. Also missing are chrome accents, roof-mounted antenna, fog lamps, rear spoiler and the stylish wheel caps seen on the top-end Tata Nano XT.
Inside, it gets Ebony black dashboard, basic fabric seats, along with power-steering and air-conditioning as standard. The base variant Tata Nano Twist XE also loses out on keyless entry with central locking, power windows, in-dash audio system and rear parcel tray seen on the comparitvely premium Tata Nano XT variant. The new Tata Nano Twist XE is available in three body colours - Meteor Silver, Royal Gold, and Serene White.
