Toyota has launched the updated Land Cruiser Prado in India at Rs 84.87 lakh ex-showroom Delhi.
The Prado gets a new grille, bumper, fog lamps, LED head lamps and rear combination lamp, daytime running lights and a rear license plate garnish.
Toyota has given the Prado a lot more kit with the facelift. It includes a crawl control feature, essentially assisting you by controlling acceleration and braking on poor surfaces. All you have to do is steer the car. A multi-terrain selector for various terrains and a monitor for clear view of the surroundings are part of the package too. There’s a new 7-inch screen on the inside as well as a few changes to the centre console. The Prado get a tyre pressure monitoring system too. Your heart may cringe to actually take a car costing around Rs 1 crore off-road but the kit will definitely tempt you to test its capabilities. There’s also a lot more comfort for the second row seats as it gets seat heaters with this update.
The new Prado will be sold in five colours - White Pearl Crystal Shine, Silver Metallic, Grey Metallic, Dark Blue Metallic and Black along with two interior colors, Flaxen and Black. Powering the Prado will be the same 3.0-litre 170bhp D4D diesel engine.
Speaking at the launch, Sandeep Singh, DMD & COO, Toyota Kirloskar Motor said, “Ever since Prado’s launch in India in 2004, customer response to the Prado's legendary quality, durability and reliability has been very good and we would like to thank our customers for this appreciation. Owing to its Land Cruiser heritage, the Prado has earned its name as an all terrain luxury SUV and appeals not only to SUV buyers but also to buyers of other luxury car segments alike. A perfect combination of maneuverability and interior luxury, we are certain that the Indian customers will experience superior comfort and luxury while driving the New Prado.”
