The upcoming scooter, likely to be the Nozza Grande, was recently spied in India and will be Yamaha's flagship scooter when launched
Yamaha Grande

The Fascino, with its retro design, has worked well for Yamaha in garnering sales numbers. Upping the ante, a scooter with similar trendy design was spotted being tested in India, indicating a possible launch in the future. It is likely to be the Nozza Grande, a 125cc scooter sold in Vietnam. The scooter is powered by a fuel-injected 124cc single-cylinder SOHC engine producing 8.2PS of power at 6500rpm and 9.7Nm of torque at 5000rpm in the Vietnam market. Expect the scooter to come to our country with either a carburetted 125cc engine or a smaller 113cc engine from the Yamaha Fascino in order to keep the costs under control. The Fascino makes about 7.1PS of power at 7500rpm and 8.1Nm of torque at 5000rpm. When it comes to cycle parts, the Nozza Grande employs telescopic fork at the front and a single rear hydraulic shock absorber. The braking responsibilities are handled by a front disc brake and a rear drum unit. Also read: Yamaha Fazer 250 Spotted Testing

The scooter is loaded with practical features like a large 27-litre, LED-illuminated underseat storage, external fuel filler, analogue-digital combo cluster and keyhole-mounted fuel and underseat access buttons. The fuel tank capacity stands at 4.4 litres and the seat is 790mm above ground. When launched, the Nozza Grande will be Yamaha's flagship scooter and is expected to command a price tag of Rs 60,000, ex-showroom. It will rival the TVS Jupiter, Honda Aviator and Hero Maestro Edge. If the scooter is launched in the 125cc guise, it will then compete with Honda Activa 125, Suzuki Access 125, Vespa SXL 125 and Vespa VXL 125.
