Nissan Magnite scores an overall 4-star safety rating in the ASEAN NCAP test.
It gets 39.02 points in AOP and 16.31 points in COP (child occupant protection).
The Indonesian-spec Magnite that was tested was made in India.
Nissan offers standard safety features like 2 airbags, front seatbelt alert and Electronic Stability Control (ESC).
The Nissan Magnite is priced from Rs 5.49 lakh to Rs 9.97 lakh (ex-showroom).
The ASEAN NCAP (New Car Assessment Programme) has released the crash test report for the Nissan Magnite. The SUV has managed to score an overall 4-star safety rating performing well in both Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and Child Occupant Protection (COP). The tests were conducted on the Indonesian-spec Nissan Magnite which is made in India.
Adult occupants seated in the front seats were protected by dual airbags and seatbelts in frontal offset crash tests, resulting in a score of 39.02 out of 50 with a 5-star rating. The results showed 'good' protection of the driver and passenger's head, upper legs, and feet. However, the driver's chest was rated ‘weak’ in the frontal offset impact. Although, Magnite’s body remained stable in the frontal offset test, while in terms of side-impact the driver’s chest had ‘adequate’ protection. The Magnite’s body is also commendable, especially when compared to the Seltos, whose body was reported unstable in the Global NCAP safety test.
In case of COP, the Magnite scores 16.31 out of 25, resulting in a 4-star rating. The Magnite offers ISOFIX anchorages at the rear. In the test, the 3-year-old child dummy in the forward-facing child seat saw ‘good protection’, whereas the 18-month-old in the rearward facing seat saw a lesser protection in the frontal impact.
The Magnite scored 15.28 out of 25 in the Safety Assist category. This can be attributed to the standard safety features on the Indonesia-spec Magnite, which includes airbags, a seatbelt reminder for both front seats, and ABS and Electronic Stability Control (ESC). These features also come standard with the India-spec SUV (ESC only with the Turbo variants). Other features include a 360-degree camera, rear parking sensors, traction control, hill start assist and tyre pressure monitor.
