Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd. (NMIPL) announces its 2011 October sales with 164 per cent year-on-year increase along with bookings of the Recently launched Nissan Sunny reaching 2000 units in 40 days.

Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd. announced its October sales with sales of 2990 units for the month of October representing a 164 per cent year-on-year increase. Sales were primarily driven by the recently launched Nissan Sunny which sold 1340 units in October 2011. Manufactured in Nissan’s Oragadam Plant, the Sunny has achieved more than 2000 orders in just six weeks of its launch. The Nissan Micra sold 1619 units, a 52 percent increase compared to October 2010. The X-Trail, Teana and 370Z comprised of the remaining sales.

Mr Kiminobu Tokuyama, Managing Director of Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd said,"October’s sales are very encouraging and demonstrate the sustained progress Nissan is making within the Indian market. This is being achieved by offering our customers a growing range of affordable, quality-driven and engaging products like SUNNY and Micra which are manufactured locally."

The Nissan Sunny comes with a standard manufacturer warranty of two years or 50,000 kilometers whichever is earlier and is available through its 45 dealerships across the country. Mr Dinesh Jain Chief Executive Officer, Hover Automotive India (HAI), Nissan’s sales and marketing partner in India, added, "Our customers' exceptional reaction to SUNNY shows that it is the right car, at the right price. The sedan segment is becoming increasingly important in India, and in SUNNY we have a model that can compete at the highest level in terms of refinement, practicality and value."
