Watch the video above and you may be forced to wonder if the Nissan Terrano has received some much-needed upgrade/update to put it back in contention in the Rs 10 lakh+ compact-SUV/crossover segment. Hold that thought though, because it hasn’t.
The Nissan Terrano Sport is a cosmetically different variant which celebrates the company’s continuing tie-up with the ICC (International Cricket Council), specifically the 2019 Cricket World Cup to be held in England and Wales.
The Nissan Terrano Sport is based on the XL (O) variant which is powered by the 85PS/200Nm version of the 1.5-litre, turbocharged, 4-cylinder ‘dCi’ diesel engine. It is priced on par with the XL (O) variant, in spite of featuring some cosmetic updates and some new equipment/accessories too, at Rs 12.22 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
What’s new?
- Body kit consisting of wheel arch extensions and side skirts
- DRLs, first showcased in March 2017 when the ‘new’ Terrano was launched
- Black roof and pillar wrap
- Crimson ‘stripes’ decal
- New fabric seat covers with grey stripes and crimson stitching
- Floor mats with crimson highlights
- Chrome garnish on the gear lever
- +15kg gross vehicle weight as compared to the XL (O) variant
Apart from these additions, the Nissan Terrano Sport carries forward all the features already available on the XL (O) variant including a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 16-inch alloy wheels, ABS+EBD, dual front airbags, reverse parking sensors and manual A/C among others.
