Okinawa is ready to launch its second scooter of the year. The Indian electrical scooter maker has announced that the Okinawa Praise will officially see its launch on the 19th of this month.
Okinawa dealerships across the country started accepting bookings for the sporty e-scooter last month for a token amount of just Rs 2,000.
The Praise promises to offer a range higher than any other scooter in our market so expect it to get close to 100kms on a single charge. The company also claims that the Praise will come with a top speed of 60kmph, 5kmph more than the first Okinawa scooter, the Ridge. This will also make the Praise the fastest electric scooter on our shores.
We saw a teaser of the scooter a while back which gave us a good idea of the bike and its design. Unlike all its other basic or boxy-looking competitors, the Praise looks sporty and bold. The two-wheeler has been designed to look like a scooter from the future, with specs and features matching its styling. From the looks of it, it will get a wide V-shaped LED headlamp with LED DRLs. It also gets gold-finished front forks with seemingly long travel, along with large 14-inch wheels. No other scooter gets a 14-inch wheel other than the Aprilia SR150, which gets one at the front. A side stand indicator, anti-theft sensor and combi brakes are other additional features on the soon to be launched bike.
The Rajasthan-based company plans to keep the prices competitive, so expect it to land somewhere near Rs 50,000, which is a nearly Rs 7,000 premium over the Okinawa Ridge. With its promising features and numbers, the company’s flagship will take on the already established Heros, the Hero Photon and Hero Nyx, in the e-scooter segment.
