Peugeot Motorcycles, a brand known mostly for its range of scooters, has unveiled two concept motorcycles at this year’s Intermot in Cologne, Germany. Garish blue and white colour scheme aside, the P2x Roadster is a neat retro-modern motorcycle complete with spoke wheels and upright ergonomics. On the other hand, the elegantly designed P2x Cafe Racer rolls on alloy wheels and has a sportier riding position thanks to its clip-on handlebars. The numbered side panels make the motorcycle look even sportier.
As far as features are concerned, the two motorcycles are equipped with a full-digital instrument cluster, enhanced with navigation and smartphone connectivity. Lighting system seems to be all-LED, and the front end features upside-down forks and Gabriel gas-charged twin rear shock absorbers. Brakes look similar to the J.Juan units (petal disc up front with radial calliper, and conventional disc at the rear) found in the Mojo as well. Further enhancing the braking potential is dual-channel ABS.
The engine has been derived from the Mojo and is expected to be Euro VI-compliant in line with current emission norms in Europe. The Mojo’s 295cc, single-cylinder, DOHC liquid-cooled powerplant is mated to a 6-speed transmission and produces 27.1PS of power at 8000rpm and 30Nm at 5500rpm.
It is unlikely that Peugeot will enter India, so chances of seeing these two motorcycles on our roads are even slim.
