While the electric scooter looks sporty, the claimed top speed figures aren’t really that impressive. Moreover, at a starting price of CNY 17,800 (around Rs 2.03 lakh), the electric scooter is pretty expensive for its class. Sure, Piaggio has tried to make up for the premium pricing by offering a 5.5-inch full-colour LCD instrument cluster, removable battery pack on all variants, keyless start, all-LED lighting, and regenerative braking. But despite all these, the Piaggio One still seems to be a little too expensive for what it offers. Also, we're yet to see whether this swappable battery pack is a result of Piaggio's consortium with KTM, Yamaha and Honda, signed in March.
The three variants use 175mm discs at both ends, with CBS as standard on the top-end Active. Piaggio has equipped the One with Vespa-like front trailing link suspension and twin rear-preload adjustable shock absorbers. The scooter rolls on 10-inch wheels wrapped in 100-section CST Urban Travel tyres.
The Piaggio One electric scooter will be offered in Europe from the end of this month. However, instead of the Piaggio One, we will likely get a Vespa electric scooter designed specifically for the Indian market. You can read more about it here.
