Given the fact that ATVs cannot be registered or driven on public roads in our country, it is really difficult for one to be able to experience how much fun they can be. Polaris India however has been on an offensive, inaugurating experience zones across the country for such enthusiasts. The American ATV manufacturer, who is the global leader in off-road and all-terrain vehicles, and has been present in India since 2011, has just inaugurated its third such experience zone in Mumbai. The latest zone thus takes the total number of the ‘Polaris Experience Zones’ to 54 across the country.
These experience zones aim at allowing enthusiasts to ride Polaris’ globally acclaimed ATVs in a safe, controlled environment under the guidance of experienced, able instructors. The latest experience zone is located in the Malad West area of Mumbai and was inaugurated by Pankaj Dubey, Managing Director of Polaris India Pvt Ltd. It is a part of an adventure theme park by the name of Tao Experiences, which, thanks to the addition of the Polaris Experience Zone now boasts a full-fledged off-road track. The track will allow potential buyers and enthusiasts to experience six various models from Polaris India’s product portfolio, depending on their skill and experience levels with ATVs.
This off-road track includes a slush pit and humps apart from which specific parts of the track necessitate the rider to go over sand and stone to add to the experience. These, we believe, are the perfect terrain to ride and understand what an ATV can do. Polaris has been present in the country for half a decade now, and has been providing the defence sector with all-terrain vehicles and ATVs that are light, quick and agile apart from boasting go anywhere abilities. Apart from the defence sector Polaris also has a huge client base across the nation, especially enthusiasts who are fond of riding/driving on dirt and enjoy going off-road.
Unfortunately, the ATV market in the country is still at a nascent stage, primarily thanks to the handicap that the government regulation of classifying ATVs as farming equipment is, since it does not allow them to be registered for use on public roads. The ATV market thus has seen limited growth despite its immense potential, and we are hopeful of the scenario changing in the near future, since all-terrain vehicles can be quite a boon in a country like ours.
