Popular Two-wheelers Yet To Receive BS6 Update: Honda CB Hornet 160R, Honda Grazia 125, Benelli Imperiale 400, TVS Victor & More

The BS6 era has finally begun. And even though the deadline to sell BS4 vehicles has been extended due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 10 per cent stock clearance rule shouldn’t make that much of a difference in the grand scheme. Now, most two-wheeler manufacturers have been able to get their BS6 product portfolio in place. However, we are still waiting to hear from a few regarding a couple of popular models. Here’s a list of two-wheelers that are still to receive their BS6 updates:

Honda CB Hornet 160R And XBlade
Despite being the first manufacturer to launch a BS6 product, the Activa 125 BS6, the majority of Honda’s BS4 models are still to receive BS6 updates. Of them, the CB Hornet 160R and the XBlade are the most glaring omissions. The likelihood of at least one, if not both of them, getting a BS6 update is high as Honda has already launched the Unicorn BS6 with the same 160cc that you find on the other two bikes. Had the lockdown not been enforced, we could have seen Honda launching at least one of these bikes’ BS6 versions.

Honda Grazia 125
Moving on to Honda’s scooter lineup, the funky Grazia 125 is still to be updated to BS6 norms. The Grazia hasn’t been as successful as Honda would have liked it to be. It might not come as a surprise if Honda decides to pull the plug on the stylish 125cc scooter. If it does get the emission updates, it will bear the new engine as well as loads of new features like the ACG starter and Idling Stop System from the Activa 125 BS6.

Benelli Imperiale 400
We had come to know about Benelli India’s BS6 plans a while ago as company officials had stated that the first motorcycle to meet the BS6 emission norms would be the Imperiale 400. The arrival of the retro motorcycle was always going to be after the deadline kicked into effect. Prior to the COVID-19 outbreak, the Imperiale 400 BS6 was supposed to arrive this month. The timelines have been affected, with the expectation of at least a month’s delay in the arrival of the new bikes.

Kawasaki Ninja 300
The Ninja 300’s popularity soared once the Japanese bike maker began locally sourcing parts, thus enabling Kawasaki to sell it at a lowered price. The motorcycle was taken off the shelves in several global markets but for India, it continues to remain Kawasaki’s most important motorcycle. As a result, the company has to come up with local solutions to get the motorcycle BS6-compliant. While we didn’t get an exact timeline, the Ninja 300 BS6 is expected to arrive in a couple of months.

TVS Victor
TVS has been silently updating its product portfolio to meet the BS6 emission norms. The company has been updating the websites of its respective models periodically as well, with the Scooty Pep Plus BS6’s prices going live today. That still leaves TVS with a handful of models to still adhere to BS6 norms, one of them being the Victor. The motorcycle has lost a little sheen since the Radeon came along, the latter one getting its emission update earlier this year.
