  • Maruti Suzuki Wagon R EV likely to go on sale in 2022.
  • It gets a redesigned front fascia, LED lightning and alloy wheels.
  • It should offer a range of around 200km.
  • Brake regeneration and fast charging are likely to be present.
  • Could be priced around Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom).

For the first time ever, pictures of the production-spec Maruti Suzuki Wagon R EV’s interior have surfaced online. As speculated earlier, the upcoming hatch gets some exclusive features that aren't offered with the standard model, including:

  • Climate control.

  • LED headlamps and tail lamps.

  • Possibly 15-inch alloy wheels.

Barring the speedometer which looks similar to the Ritz, the Wagon R EV’s dashboard design is similar to the standard model. The test mule seen here doesn’t feature an infotainment system, but we expect top-spec models to come with Maruti’s 7-inch Smartplay Studio unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Other expected features include remote locking, steering-mounted audio controls, a multi-info display, dual airbags, ABS with EBD, a rear parking camera, and parking sensors.

Technical specifications of the electric motor and battery pack are yet to be determined. That said, we expect the upcoming hatch to cover 200km on a single charge. Brake force regeneration and fast charging could also be offered. To have a closer look at the Wagon R EV’s exterior design, click here.

Maruti will no doubt be sharing the Wagon R EV with Toyota as part of the agreement between the two manufacturers. We expect Toyota’s version to be christened ‘Hyryder’ as per the latest trademark filed by the carmaker.

The Wagon R EV is likely to be priced around Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom), putting it in the same league as the upcoming Mahindra eKUV100.
