The QJMoto Sai 350 first broke cover at the 2021 Beijing Motor Show

QJMotor, a sister company of Benelli, had showcased its Sai 350 sportsbike at the 2021 Beijing Motor Show. Now the bike has started reaching dealerships in China, thus revealing crucial information about the bike.

Aesthetically, the Sai 350 is a sporty looking motorcycle from head to toe. Up front, you get a sharp fascia with twin-pod LED lights (similar to what we saw on the QJMotor Race 250), complemented by a short visor and vertical LED strip in between.

Then there’s the muscular fuel tank, split seats and a sleek tail, all of which add to its big bike-like appeal. The tail end even gets aerodynamic scoops at both sides similar to what we get on the Yamaha R15 V3. These seem more showy than purposeful, though.

Powering the Sai 350 is a 353cc twin-cylinder motor putting out 37.5PS and 31Nm. Putting things into perspective, this is just about 3PS and 4Nm more than the TVS Apache RR 310, which is a single-cylinder motorcycle.

Interestingly, the production variant of the Sai 350 gets twin 250mm discs with axial calipers up front and a single 240mm disc at the rear, while during the Beijing Motor Show, it was displayed with single disc brakes at both ends. Dual-channel ABS also comes standard.

Moving on, QJMotor is famous for kitting out its bikes with modern features and the Sai 350 is no exception. It gets all-LED lighting, a chunky USD fork, adjustable levers, backlit switchgear, a hazard light switch, and a USB charging port, all topped off by the big full colour instrument cluster. While the display may not be too informative, it gets two light-sensing display modes, Bluetooth connectivity, and a tyre pressure display function.

All in all, it’s safe to say the Sai 350 certainly has a lot of potential. Official prices are yet to be revealed. While the bike might never make it to our shores, we can’t help but wonder what if it does. If Benelli were to bring a rebadged version of this motorcycle at about Rs 2.5 lakh, it would give the TVS Apache RR 310, the ageing KTM RC 390 and the Kawasaki Ninja 300, a tough competition!
