TVS has been racing for decades now and they claim that the Apache RR 310 has been developed from all that experience. It’s only logical then that the RR 310 would debut in TVS’ one make championships since they already have the RTR 200 in that arena.
Changes for the race bike include a remapped ECU, upgraded induction system and a race exhaust. The 313cc, liquid-cooled, single now makes 38PS at 10,300rpm compared to the stock bike’s 34PS at 9700rpm. Top speed is a claimed 175kmph (stock 160kmph).
That’s not all, even the bodywork has been modified. Changes to the bodywork include removal of the headlamp, tail lamp, turn indicators, mirrors and number plate holders. The bodywork remains stock otherwise, though the footpegs have been moved back and are higher now. The suspension along with the tyres that appear to be stock Michelin Pilot Street radials haven’t been tinkered with.
The RTR 200 Edition 2.0 race bike meanwhile gets serious updates. Its 197.75cc air- and oil-cooled single-cylinder motor now comes with a slipper clutch and gets a modified camshaft, retuned carburettor, ignition system, race tuned intake and exhaust system. The race-tuned motor makes 24PS at 9300rpm compared to the stock bike’s 20.5PS at 8500rpm. TVS claims a top speed of 145kmph compared to our tested top speed of 112kmph. The front and rear suspension too have been tuned to race specifications and use Pirelli tyres. Here’s the bikemaker’s official statement:
