In a bid to boost the Nexon’s sales amidst stiff competition, Tata Motors has launched the refreshed Nexon Kraz edition. Priced at Rs 7.58 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), the Nexon Kraz can be had with either a petrol or diesel engine. Both engine options are available with the choice of a manual gearbox or an automated manual transmission (AMT), taking the total number of Kraz variants to four. The Kraz limited edition sits between the XM and XT+ variants of the Nexon and packs various orange accents both inside and outside the cabin. It must be mentioned that Tata Motors previously offered a Nexon Kraz edition with various bits finished in neon green.
For starters, the Nexon Kraz is only available in black with a grey roof. Bits like the ORVMs, grille, and the wheel caps are finished in orange. Topping things up outside is the ‘Kraz’ badge on the boot. The orange theme continues on the inside as well with orange accents on the seats and air vent surrounds. Apart from that, the Kraz edition gets a piano black finish on the dashboard, door pads and the steering wheel.
Features available in the Nexon Kraz edition include a four-speaker sound system and infotainment system with Bluetooth and USB, power windows, remote locking, electrically adjustable ORVMs, manual HVAC and three drive modes. Safety features include dual airbags, ABS with EBD and rear parking sensors.
The Nexon Kraz can be had with a 1.2-litre Revotron turbo-petrol or a 1.5-litre Revotorq diesel engine. Both develop 110PS of power. Torque rating in the petrol engine stands at 170Nm while the diesel unit develops 260Nm. Both engines can be had with a 6-speed manual and AMT transmission options.
The Nexon Kraz Edition is a welcome addition to boost the Nexon’s sales amidst stiff competition from the Hyundai Venue and Mahindra XUV300. It must be mentioned that Tata Motors has started to develop the Nexon facelift. Likely to take styling cues from the Harrier, the Nexon facelift is expected to pack more features as well as BS6-compliant engines. It is expected to hit showrooms this festive season.
