After a long wait, the Renault Captur is all set to enter the Indian market tomorrow. With this, the French manufacturer is planning to make its mark in the compact segment owing to the Captur’s premium look and styling. Renault’s new SUV is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 12-15 lakh and will go up against SUVs like the Hyundai Creta and the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross. Here are some quick bits about the new Captur.
What it looks like?
The Captur is stylish SUV with crossover-like looks. It gets dual-tone paint job with blacked out roof and wing mirrors. It gets full LED headlamps with floating indicators flanking the handsome front grill. The Captur gets black coloured body cladding running all across the lower half of the body including the wheel arches which house those 17-inch alloy wheels. The rear of the car looks clean with blacked out rear spoiler and split tail lamps with LED inserts.
What does it offer?
As this a premium offering from Renault, the Captur comes loaded with features. Standard features include dual airbags, ABS with EBD, smart access card, infotainment system, automatic climate control and rear AC vents. Especially for the Indian market, Renault has come up with a new top-spec variant called the Platine. It gets a gold-white interior theme with features like cruise control, rain sensing wipers and automatic headlamps. The Captur will also come with two customizations options-Diamond Deck and Urban Connect. They both offer different graphics options to suit one’s liking.
Where does it get the power?
At launch, the Captur will be powered by a 1.5-litre diesel engine producing 110PS of power and 240Nm of torque mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. A petrol-powered version will follow soon with a 1.5-litre engine producing 106PS of power and 142Nm of torque and will be mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
