The Renault Duster introduced India to the concept of the compact SUV and sold in great numbers. In fact, the Duster is still one of our all time favourite SUVs due to its excellent packaging and even better driving dynamics. India though is not the only country where the Duster was a success. Renault Brazil has also seen great success with the Duster and have now launched an update and face lifted version of the same.
Up front, the headlights have been tweaked and get daytime running lights and a new black grille. The Duster also gets a refreshed bumper with a satin silver finished skid plate. The roof rails have also been updated and feature a chunkier design. Our favourite visual upgrade though has to be the new and highly detailed tail lamps.
On the interior front, there is a new steering wheel with audio controls and a new centre console that gets a gloss black surround. There are also a new set of AC vents that look quite modern and updated. The infotainment system has also been updated to allow access to an array of apps and traffic updates.
Although in India the Duster mainly sells with the 1.5-litre diesel powerplant, the Brazilian version gets a choice of two petrol engines; a 1.6-litre and a 2.0-litre. The engines are mated to either a 6-speed manual or a CVT automatic gearbox coupled with either a front wheel drive or all wheel drive setup.
