Renault will unveil the India-spec Captur on 21st September at 12pm

Through a series of 5 teasers and a website that displays the official countdown to the launch, Renault we believe has teased enough to grab our attention to the new Captur.

Chrome Grille

From what we have learned from the teasers so far, the French automaker's newest India-spec offering comes with a V-shaped chrome grille, while the Brazil and Russia ones are glossy black. The car will also feature a dual-tone paint scheme like a lot of new compact SUVs and sub-4ms that came out in the recent past.

From what was displayed in the 2nd teaser, it looks like the car will run on 17-inch wheels that have 5 petal-shaped spokes, and the alloys look like they are machine-cut dual-tone units. Until now, only the Hyundai Creta worked on 17-inch wheels in the compact SUV category.

Tail light

Renault has confirmed that the Captur packs the company's Pure Vision LED headlamps with dynamic turn indicators in the Indian spec. The car also sports Renault's signature LED daytime running lights and compact-looking LED tail lights, that make the car look attractively different. The lower-spec models might offer a projector halogen setup too.

And, through its latest and last teaser, we have learned that the instrument cluster has a digital speedometer and an analogue tachometer, which looks very urban and futuristic with the chrome outline along the instrument panel.
The cluster also sheds light on the presence of Cruise Control and Eco-mode in the car, which will be delightful news for highway cruisers. At least some variants of the car will also be equipped with security features like ABS, traction control and seat bags.

The Instrument panel further explains the design philosophy, with sharp but smooth flowing lines that sync well with the visible exterior to provide the car with a sleek look. The crossover is all set to compete with the S-Cross, Honda BRV and Hyundai Creta. The car is expected to cost somewhere between 10 to 15 lakhs. Ranbir Kapoor will be officially unveiling the car at 12 noon on the 21st of September.
