Renault India ended the financial year end on a high note having recorded a growth of 160 per cent. The company sold 12,424 units in the domestic market as opposed to the 4,782 units in the same month last year. And it isn't just March, Renault sales have consistently grown over the last quarter. Posting the overall growth of 157 per cent in the last quarter, Renault sold 29,289 units between January-March as against 11,404 units during the time last year.

Speaking on the company’s sales performance, Sumit Sawhney, Country CEO and Managing Director, Renault India Operations, said, “Renault is one of the fastest growing automobile brand in India. In a short span of time, we have exponentially grown our reach in terms of sales and network expansion. This month, we recorded our best ever sales figures in India, and we will continue to maintain this positive momentum as we strategically work towards increasing our market share in India.”

Renault Duster

One of the primary reasons for the success of the brand this year is undoubtedly its entry-level hatch Kwid. With 98 per cent localisation, Renault has not only priced it competitively but has also equipped it with a lot of segment-first features. Since its launch in September last year, the Kwid has consistently been recording sales of over 5,000 units each month.

Renault has now also introduced a facelift end version of the Duster. Being a facelift, changes on the new 2016 Duster aren't a bag full but Renault has been smart in bringing in an AMT transmission to the Duster. Since the time it was first launched in 2012, the Duster has been a popular choice in its class however sales of the car were dwindling off late. Renault hopes that the launch of the refreshed Duster should being up the sales numbers once again.
