All Four Variants Of The Renault Kiger Explained

The Kiger, Renault’s first-ever sub-4 metre SUV, has been launched in India from Rs 5.45 lakh to Rs 9.55 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom). At these prices the Kiger undercuts all its rivals and is the most affordable sub-4 metre SUV in India. It will be offered in four broad variants -- RXE, RXL, RXT, and RXZ -- and comes with two petrol engines. Renault has now revealed the variant-wise details of all four trims. Here’s a closer look:

RXE

The RXE variant is the entry-level variant. It’s offered only with the 72PS 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol motor with a manual transmission.

• Turn indicator on ORVMs.

• Rear spoiler. 

• 16-inch steel wheels with wheel caps. 

• LED instrument cluster, similar to Kwid and Triber. 

• Adjustable headrests for front occupants.

• ABS with EBD. 

RXL

Up next is the RXL. It can be had with the naturally aspirated and the 100PS 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engines. The former is also offered with an AMT.

In addition to the RXE, the RXL comes with:

RXT

In addition to the NA petrol and turbo-petrol engines from above, this variant also comes with a turbo-petrol CVT powertrain.

RXZ

The top-spec variant comes with all the bells and whistles. All four powertrains are offered in this variant as well.

Wireless phone charger and a Philips PM 2.5 AC filter are part of an optional accessory pack. Renault also offers five customisation packs: Attractive, Essential, SUV, Smart, and Smart+. 

It offers the Kiger in six colours: red, grey, silver, blue, white, and brown. The dual-tone scheme, which is offered on all the variants, commands a premium of Rs 17,000.
