Renault will soon be hiking prices of it’s entry-level hatchback, the Kwid. Available with two engine options, the Kwid is all set to receive a price hike of three per cent starting April 2019. The price hike is due to rising input costs for the manufacturer. The manufacturer hasn’t confirmed if prices of its other models such as the Duster and Captur will be increased as well. Here’s a table comparing the new and old prices of the Kwid.

The Renault Kwid can be had with either an 800cc or 1.0-litre SCe (Smart Control efficiency) petrol engine. The former produces 54PS of power and has a claimed fuel efficiency of 25.17 kmpl. The latter produces 68PS and has a claimed fuel efficiency of 21.7 kmpl. Where as the 0.8-litre engine can be had with a 5-speed manual gearbox only, the 1.0-litre engine comes with an option of 5 speed manual as well as an AMT gearbox. Talking about features, the Kwid comes with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, air-conditioning and power windows. Safety features on the Kwid include driver airbag, ABS with EBD, driver and passenger seatbelt warning and a speed warning alert that is standard across all variants.
As the new financial year kicks in, expect carmakers to hike prices of their models by a similar margin from April 1 onwards. Recently, Tata Motors also announced a price hike of upto Rs 25,000 on their cars. Here’s what Renault had to say about the hike.
RENAULT INDIA TO INCREASE PRICES OF KWID BY UPTO 3% EFFECTIVE APRIL 2019
