GP Petroleum Ltd, subsidiary of UAE- based Gulf Petrochem Group has launched Repsol lubricants in India. Present at the do was Indian cricketer Suresh Raina, who unveiled the lubricants. It also marks the entry of the Spanish oil company with its premium quality products in the country. On the basis of the agreement signed last year, GP Petroleum will have exclusive rights to manufacture and market Repsol lubricants across India. Initially, the partnership will focus on the highly competitive two-wheeler market and then on catering to four-wheelers and heavy-duty vehicles. Apart from these, Repsol will also have a premium mineral oil for the rapidly growing gearless two-wheeler market in India.

GP Petroleum has also appointed an exclusive team with a planned network for marketing Repsol effectively in India. The lubrication products formulated by Repsol borrow technology from the research and development that benefits hugely from the brand’s long standing relationship with Honda in motorcycle racing, particularly MotoGP, where Repsol is the title sponsor for the factory Honda Racing team.
