Toyota doesn’t just have aggressive future plans, but the sentiments also reflect in the latest car design, coming from the Japanese car maker’s drawing board. The first Toyota with the new found ‘sporty’ tag was the latest generation Toyota Corolla Altis, launched last year in India.
The sedan immediately caught on to the imagination of the Indian executive class, as the new distinct styling added to the comfort and hassle-free maintenance the Toyota Corolla Altis has been associated with over the years. And now the company seems to be pushing the envelope further, and is ready to bring in a slightly revised 2016 Toyota Corolla Altis facelift which was caught on camera recently in the Far East.
The sedan caught on camera seems to be even sportier than before and gets a cleaner front design, with fewer chrome parts. There’s just a single chrome strip above the grille which continues all the way over the headlamps, and with the large trapezoidal air dam creates Toyota’s ‘X’ theme in front. The huge front bumper now features diagonally placed set of LED fog lamps, as seen on some Volvo cars.
Although the side profile of the sedan is not altered, the 2016 Toyota Corolla Altis facelift sports black side skirts and new alloy wheels. At the back, it gets clear-lens tail lights, a redesigned bumper and a spoiler on the boot lid.
What’s interesting is that the Corolla Altis carries an ‘X’ badge at the back, which might mean that Toyota may also launch this as a sporty variant, instead of a full-fledged facelift version.
