Parent company, BMW, had filed a patent back in 2020 for the name Silent Shadow.
Design could be inspired by the Vision Next 100 (103EX) electric concept.
Expect a debut within this decade.
It looks like Rolls-Royce's first all-electric vehicle is beginning to take shape, as recent reports suggest the development of the EV is underway. The carmaker had revealed its intentions to build its first EV all the way back in 2017 when it revealed the Phantom VIII.
You might want to take this information with a pinch of salt, though, as Rolls-Royce CEO Torsten Mueller-Oetvoes hasn’t given any concrete details but just subtle hints saying, “It will, of course, obviously be a brand-new Rolls-Royce, rest assured." He hasn’t revealed a debut timeline either but we expect it within this decade.
As for the name, it could be called the Silent Shadow. Its parent company BMW had filed a patent for this name back in 2020. Interestingly, Rolls-Royce used to retail the Silver Shadow sedan from 1965-1980.
Since it is hinted to be an all-new Rolls-Royce, its design may be inspired by the Vision Next 100 (103EX) electric concept revealed back in 2016. The concept had a sleek design with bulbous fenders inspired by classic models of the past. It showcased some nifty futuristic tech, such as Level 5 autonomous mobility, and single-door entry which bifurcates into a suicide door and a gullwing door for easy ingress and egress.
Expect more details on Rolls-Royce’s first all-electric offering to surface with time.
