Royal Enfield has been increasing the prices of its BS6 models across the range and the latest victim is the Himalayan BS6. The motorcycle now costs Rs 1,836 more across its colour variants. This is the Himalayan’s second price hike since its BS6 launch in January. The first hike in March saw the motorcycle’s price increase by Rs 2,700. Here’s the new variant-wise price list:

Lake Blue | Rs 1,94,154 | Rs 1,95,990 | Rs 1,836 |
Despite the price increase, the Himalayan does not get any cosmetic or mechanical changes. The BS6-compliant 411cc single-cylinder fuel-injected motor now delivers 24.31PS and 32Nm. While it sees a minor drop in power over its BS4 predecessor, the BS6 Himalayan is a lot more refined. The underpinnings comprise long-travel forks, monoshock, and 21-inch front and 17-inch rear spoke wheels shod with dual-purpose Ceat tyres. Braking is via disc brakes at both ends with switchable dual-channel ABS.
Even after the price hike, the top-spec Himalayan’s ex-showroom price remains below Rs 2 lakh making it a tempting proposition if you are looking for an entry-level adventure tourer. It is an affordable alternative to the KTM 390 Adventure and the upcoming BMW G 310 GS.
