The feature is likely to be offered as an accessory
  • Introduced on the Meteor 350, the Tripper pod has also made its way to the Himalayan.
  • The Hunter 350 will be powered by the J-series 349cc motor.
  • Expect it to arrive in the second half of the year.
  • Royal Enfield is set to be pretty active in the months to come. The brand has promised a new bike/variant every quarter of the year, with the first one for 2021 being the updated Himalayan. It will soon be followed by the 2021 Classic 350, the Hunter 350, and perhaps even the 650cc cruiser. We’ve had regular sightings of these bikes prior to their inevitable launch, with this latest instance giving us a glimpse of the Hunter’s instrumentation panel, but something’s missing.

Yep, no Tripper navigation console like we have seen on the Meteor 350 and the Himalayan 350. Royal Enfield may have a good reason to skimp on offering the aid on the Hunter. Firstly, both the Meteor and Himalayan are touring-oriented motorcycles in RE’s lineup. The Hunter will be more of a city bike. Hence, it makes sense to have it from the get-go on the former two.

For the Hunter though, we guess RE will offer it as an accessory. Given the standard semi-digital cluster’s offset mounting, there will be provisions to add this feature if the buyer is willing to spend some extra moolah. This also indicates the Hunter will bear a lower price tag compared to the Meteor 350 and may even sit below or on par with the upcoming Classic 350 in the RE pecking order.

Whatever be the case, we hope we get to ride these new Royal Enfields very soon. The new 349cc motor is quite a charming unit and could work very well in a neo-retro roadster bike format.
