[Update: Royal Enfield has launched the Meteor 350 in India. For pricing and other information from the launch, head here]
Yesterday, we learned how much power and torque the upcoming Royal Enfield Meteor 350 will produce, and you can read all about it here. Today, the same leaked brochure images have also given us some very interesting information about the features. While the news about engine output was slightly disappointing, the Meteor’s equipment list is quite a pleasant surprise.
The bike will get a twin-pod semi-digital instrument cluster equipped with Bluetooth connectivity and even a small colour TFT screen. Thanks to the phone connectivity option, it will be able to display turn-by-turn navigation on the TFT screen. To ensure your phone doesn’t die out while feeding you navigation, RE will also equip the Meteor with USB charging, meaning you don’t have to faff about with aftermarket accessories.
The analogue speedometer pod will also have an inset digital display with information like gear position, an Eco indicator and a service reminder, in addition to the usual odometer and clock readouts. And now to answer the million dollar question, yes, the Meteor will get a fuel gauge! The speedometer itself reads up to quite an ambitious figure of 160kmph, but you’ll only ever be able to use around 65 percent of that on level ground. RE is also expected to equip the Meteor with LED DRL rings on the headlight and tail lamp. With all these details coming hard and fast over the last couple of days, it’s quite clear that our long and eventful wait for the Meteor is finally nearing an end. We expect an official launch sometime in the latter two weeks of this month at an expected price tag of around Rs 1.75 lakh for the base variant. The full extent of these features will only be available on the top-spec Supernova variant. For more details about how many variants and colour options will be offered, click here.
