Salman Khan is the owner of the first Renault Koleos

French car manufacturer, Renault recently took the wraps off its premium SUV offering, the Koleos. The stylish new SUV was unveiled by none other than Jai Ho Star Salman Khan. The Bollywood star was then handed the keys to the new Koleos by  Sumit Sawhney - Country CEO and Managing Director for Renault Operations in India.

The Koleos debuted in the Indian market a little over two years back but was made available just in the 4x4 variant. With this new edition, Renault now brings the SUV in three variants – the base 4x2 manual, the 4x4 manual and the top of the line 4x4 automatic trim. 

The 2014 Koleos sports a 2.0-litre diesel engine that produces 173PS of power in the top-end 4x4 automatic trim while the two wheel drive model gets its pull with the assistance of 148 horses. 

Although the Koleos has proved to be a promising SUV, it didn’t quite get the kind of sales that Renault would have expected. But with the launch of the 2014 variant, the French car maker would be hoping to change the name of the game.
