Showstoppers at the Mumbai International Motor Show 2013

The Mumbai International Motor Show (MIMS) 2013 has plenty on offer for the car and bike enthusiasts but there are a few which simply stand out from the rest. The first to arrest attention and take you back in time is the ‘Fiat retrospective’ section which has some of the most beautiful Fiat cars from the vintage era. While a 1956 Fiat Millicento and a classy 1957 Fiat Elegant welcomes you, the candy coloured 1954 Fiat 600 and the the 1961 Fiat 500 simply leaves one breathless with their aura and beauty.  A 1965 Fiat 1100 Delight shows one exactly how the ubiquitous Padmini  looked in its pristine best.

If those get you hooked, then the next stand immediately sends hearts racing at the ‘Motorsports Pavillion’. Looking fast while standing still is the brilliant 2012 Volkswagen Polo R Cup car, the Desert Storm conquering Mahindra Super XUV5OO, the Toyota Etios Motor Racing car and Sinhagad Academy of Engineering’s awesome Baja Interceptor. That’s not all; also garnering attention are the Honda CBR 250R and the 150R in complete racing livery and specifications. For go-kart lovers, Rayoracing has the shatteringly quick 2-stroke Rotax Max kart to drool on. And finally, the most-clicked car at the event is the stunning DC Avanti at the ZigWheels stall. With its attention grabbing looks, it is the car which is most posed in front of and around. 

This year’s motor show also has a host of exciting activities such as the Pulsar Stunt Mania, contests and hot deals on automotive products. Visitors to the luxury pavilion can win a fantastic sailing experience aboard a 25-foot French yacht by answering a few simple questions. With such an eclectic choice of wheels, deals and cool contests,  the 2013 MIMS is definitely the place to be this weekend.
